Alejandro Quijano, born on 1 August 1957, in Merida. As a child, his family moved to Mexico City where he resides and has studied academic and artistic. In the 70's, courses in the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), the degree course in architectural construction and a Diploma in Tourism. The development of humanist thought led him to pursue a degree in sociology at the Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico (UNAM) and a postgraduate degree in computing Arturo Rosenbluth Foundation.

Alongside his intellectual development, ventures since 1974 and a self-taught in the study of the arts. For nine years he worked in the studios of several artists. Simultaneously studying for a full career in the School of Crafts in Mexico City, specializing in the use of glass, which lets you create your own workshop in 1983. A Starting this year, his work has evoked the development of all the possibilities of artistic expression such as: Glass of all techniques, painting, sculpture in bronze, marble, iron, wood carving, engraving, jewelry, Golden, stew etc. In each of these techniques, there are distinctive signs of the work of Alexander, which are an expression of aesthetic endeavor, where the constant is to transform objects and spaces, works of art.

These works have been shown vividly in several exhibitions in galleries, museums, and cultural centers of the most diverse, both within and outside the country. Having to his credit over three hundred exhibitions, through which its parts have gone to form part of various public and private collections. Likewise his work has a presence in a number of publications.

He has served on the Board of the Salon de la Plastica Mexicana, which in turn depends on the INBA, is Director of the Department of Graphic Design SOMAAP (Mexican Society of Authors in the Visual Arts), is a founding member of the Society Recreational artists, Named Commissioner for External Exhibition Hall of the Mexican Plastic from September 2005, allowing you to fight not only for its own interests, but also develop their sense of union. He is Chairman of Summa Foundation Talent.

This work is also linked to teaching, important work that Alexander has done, both in the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the Instituto Tecnologico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Campus City Mexico, giving workshops in sculpture, painting, engraving, enamelling heat, Creativity and Artistic Glass, by this means young people planting the seeds of national aesthetic consciousness.
